Hemp Cultivation in Romania

The situation in Romania:

Romania's 1996 hemp production of 2,500 acres was processed in one of its six factories. Burning hemp hurds provides a portion of the processing plants' energy. There are also four spinning mills using the long hemp fibers and four weavers working with hemp. Romania's hemp processing facilities are currently operating at one-eighth of their total capacity of 40 tons per month. (see John Dvorak article)

“Dear Sir!

In Romania we are partner from some hemp farmers -In 1996 our partners had about 1000 ha hemp in field. We cooperate with four spinning miles and we are able to produce fiber NM 5, NM 10, NM 12,5 and NM 14 in a quantity from 10 tons per month.

Our textile engineer Liviu Crisan creates and develops from this hemp fiber about 150 different hemp fabrics from 200-800 8 per qm.

We are even able to organize a jeans or shirt production in a quantity from 2000-10.000 pieces per month.

We work at the moment only for the German market and we would be interested in a partner firm, who is good in American market.
