Dear David,
Just a short note to tell you that the Alberta Research Council (ARC) in Edmonton, 250 Karl Clark Road will be making boards/panels from hemp hurds on December 21 and 22, 1998. I know it is close to Christmas but if you are planning a trip to Edmonton, you will find the board trials very interesting.
There is no need to pre-register but if you come, ask for Wayne Wasylciw who is working with me on these trials. Wayne can be reached by phone (403-450-5422), by fax (403-450-5397) or by e-mail wasylciw@arc.ab.ca
Tuesday morning or afternoon would be the best time to visit ARC but there will be several panels produced by lunch time on Monday. Samples of earlier hemp trials will be on display. Pass this invitation on to others who may be interested in visiting the ARC Panel Laboratory.
ARC has a Pulp and Paper Division and they are looking at the mechanical pulping of hemp. They have added more research area and have some new machinery for making layered paper.
