6b. Crop care during growth cycle:

Information is available from the following trials; Tasmania, Australia and Manitoba, Canada

When growing for fiber: Methods from Tasmania, Australia: Fertilizer rates were based on literature recommendations modified according to soil nutrient status. Crops were irrigated when soil moisture deficit exceeded about 35mm = 1½inches using overhead sprinklers.

Information is available from the following trial; Manitoba, Canada

Mr. Jack Moes of the Manitoba Provincial Government in Canada was involved in cross trials of this Hemp-seed with six other low-THC varieties during the summer of 1995. In Manitoba, Canada Hemp could be sown by mid- May 1995, using conventional seeding equipment.

When growing for Hemp-seed: For planting for Hemp-seed use 18½ kilograms per hectare or in American amounts 16½ pounds per acre when cultivating in rows 75 centimeters or 30 inches apart.
